The Gardeners of the Temple share a deep desire to develop harmony, live honorably, promote justice, love their fellow man and combat ignorance.
We work tirelessly for the welfare of humanity by pursuing its gradual and peaceful emancipation. We love nature and everything related to it, so that we can nurture the seed inside everyone of us and see it grow, develop and bear beautiful fruits.
The aim of our Free-Gardening is to bring together men and women who already share a common ground through a first initiatory process, allowing them to collaborate through the shared symbols found in the world of gardening. These symbols encompass anything connected to the art of gardening and its surrounding elements.
At Free-Gardeners, we embrace a set of core values that guide our work and shape our relationships with others and the world around them. We aim to embody these principles in every aspect of our garden, fostering a more harmonious and positive world.
The Gardeners of the Temple gather four times a year to celebrate the start of each new season, holding ceremonies at the solstices and equinoxes. Each event begins with the preparation of a symbolic garden - indoors or outdoors - followed by an opening ritual and a seasonal ceremony, unique to that time of year: summer solstice, autumn equinox, winter solstice, or spring equinox.

Founded in Scotland in the 1650s, the Order of Free-Gardeners quickly spread to England and then Ireland. Its main objective was to share knowledge of the trade, and this friendly society based its activities on mutual aid. Today, it is expanding not only in the UK, but also in France, Germany, Monaco, Spain, the Philippines and South Africa.
